I must be the most forgetful chick on the grid, I swear! I see stuff, go “oooh that’s soo cool”, vow to check it out (the store I mean) then promptly forget. Then when I remember, and get all excited, TP bestie, and she’s like, ” I brought you here last year dood” shame reigns :P

Indi Designs is one such store. I had seen pics on the feed, *knew* the clothes were so me, and kept getting sidetracked. So when I finally decided to ignore IM’s and just GO, a screaming match then ensued, “How could you have been shopping here and NOT TOLD ME? YOU SUCK” Again, shame reigns, cos bestie had indeed taken me to Indi Designs, on more than one occasion…….oy. This first outfit is “Morgan” and I just adore it. There are so many options, the mind will boggle. Everything comes on all layers, you can mix and match to your heart’s content. Not only that, you can sex it up, or make it a more professional look, with the click of your mouse. GOTS TO LOVE THAT :P

This is “Hazel” and is my absolute favorite. 2 different kinds of stockings, pants, several top options, jackets, prim bits, or not. That’s right! If you’re in a sim that’s laggy, never fear. All your prim belts are drawn onto the clothes, your fashion WILL NOT WANT :P

Lord and who would have thought, amazing lingerie, from the same store? Not I said the fly! But here it is, gorgeously shaded, on every layer imaginable. You actually get 12 pieces in the one folder, so you can dream up all kinds of combinations. My favorite part is the “G” is not a piece of string that gets lost in the av mesh, total win! Ash Out.

Zobovic

Oh happy day when a new hair store opens in SL. Having decided long ago that we were certified hair hoowas, Sasy and I were needing a new fix. It came to us in the form of Zobovic. We sat, we waited, we spied on the setting up of the store at The Deck, we (gasp) sorted inventory and sulked.

Finally yesterday, she IM’d me to say “Hair’s up” and a few OMG’s later I was already in a demo.The textures are just insanely good. Remember how crazy everyone went over Tuli’s pic for the Black Swan? Well these textures look just as amazing. The first style is “Boh” and screamed Mod to me, so the perfect dress to accompany it, is of course the Mode II from CKS Designs. perfectly form fitting, and because of the 67857856785 layering options, you can wear it over pants or jeans. Yay for versatility!

This next hair from Zobovic is called “Krysta” the perfect summer updo. Perfectly complementing CKS Designs “Summer Safari” shorts, jacket and halter. All of the range come in a dazzling array of colours, both brights and neutrals.

An example of the neutrals here, the Summer Safari pants and halter. The shading on the pants is divine, again with a choice of layering, and either tight fit, or regular fit with prim bottoms. Now I’m gonna sip mocktails, draped over a yacht somewhere in sl :P Ash Out.

Homage-Fin

Yar, I’m like a week late, bu I do have good reasons :P This is the final part of my homage series, and I saved the best for last. Those of you that know me, know my bestie. She’s loud, brash, driven, talented and has the foulest mouth this side of Cali. She also has the biggest heart of anyone I know, and my SL just wouldn’t be the same without her.

This is her favorite look of all time. The hawtest outfit WWI has to offer, short, messy hair, Shiny Things boots and socks. Yes, she shares my obsession for socks, but somehow she manages to turn them into something that reminds you of a romp in the hay, rather than sweet and cute :P

And being the bestest friend ever, she let me play dress ups with her. This is what I would put her in if she ever let me lose in her inv. A yummy, floaty dress from Ibizarre, slightly longer hair (the new freebie from Troof) ankle socks and Oxfords from Tesla. She was cooking dinner while I took these photos, and we laughed ourselves stupid as every time she came back to her computer, I had her av in another strange position. Over the years we have laughed, cried, fallen asleep on each other, gotten drunk and righteous, raged at each other and loved and supported each other. What I love most about us is when we get on a creative roll, they are my favorite times. Brainstorming at 3am, emoing in Photoshop and making shit. She works too hard, she is the best at everything she does and she amazes me everyday. Ash Out.

Homage Part 5

Well now, it’s been an interesting weekend, to completely underplay the bollox that’s gone on. But shan’t be covering that here. Instead it’s part 5 of my homage series to my nearest and most fabulous inspirations, in honor of Blogger’s Appreciation week. This post is devoted to the most fabulous ex-wife of many a talented SLer. The light of several people’s ladyparts, and manparts, our Lolivia. Also voted the most laid back at the SCD prom (don’t tell, but that’s cos she’s horizontal :P)

Loli is one of the original Freestylers, who along with Creams and Cheri, built a blog to remember. Always fun, drunk or sober, although what came over us when we went on a quest for camels and masters in Gor, I have no idea :P Our travels have taken us to many unique places in SL, School Girls Gone bad, was a um fascinating? adventure! But all the while Loli has been an amazing friend, someone you can count on when you have PMS to get all RAGE FILLED with you, and when you need a shoulder to cry on, she doesn’t mind the emo stuff either. An amazing blogger, even though she hates words words words, with a gorgeous quirky style I adore. ILH, and even though she left me for Creamy, my heart will always remain troo. Ash Out.

Homage Part 4

Yus!!! Tis Creamy’s turn to be roasted paid tribute to :P Next month marks a year since Creamy asked me to “show some of my finds” on Freestyle. I had absolutely no clue how much my SL would change, I also had no clue about blogging…..I muddled along with the help of the girls and I’m so glad I didn’t give up although sometimes I wanted to.

I thought I would celebrate the BEST DAY in Creamy’s Slife. The day she stole Loli away from me married Lolivia. They are indeed a match made in heaven, and eventually I will get over the pain ;) But now, there’s so much more than the blog in Creamy’s SL. She makes hair, poses, builds all sorts of weird and wonderful things….self taught. Like me, she gets obsessively creative and can vanish for days at a time, only to resurface with something amazing.

We have gestured ourselves into oblivion, crashed sims, argued about the pros and cons of prim pubes (10 points for guessing which side Creams was on :P), had pseudo SLorgies and had conversations such as: Creamy Cooljoke: Ooooh my strapon just got returned to my lost and found, that’s nice I was looking for that.
Ashia Tomsen dreads to ask where you were when you lost it, and how, when it straps on, it magically unstrapped:P And of course, the classic conversation that defined Creamy’s name for at least 6 months:

Homage Part 3

What can I say about the incredible woman I’m paying tribute to today? Lots actually so hold tight :p I first met Sasy when news of a blatant rip off artist swept the grid, looooong story, but after several exhausting hours talking to him in voice, the offending skins were taken down. We talked off and on after that, and I was stoked when she added me to her friends list. I was just discovering blogs and the fashion feeds, it was like a whole other other world!!

This was the first post by anyone ever that made me rush off to buy stuff!! What I love most about Sasy’s look is her versatility, Newdoll and I were talking about it last night. We both agreed that it’s the finer details that make Sasy stand out. She does accessories to perfection, and all at once can be cute and innocent, while wearing latex and thigh high boots, talented lady :P But not only is Sasy talented fashion wise, she’s a marketing whiz, having an instinctive knack of knowing
what works and what doesn’t. Working tirelessly behind the scenes with designers and chairing charities, always available for advice and lending a friendly ear, we are indeed very lucky to have her.

This post, oh this post. It started my love for battle kilts and boys clothes. I remember yelling so very loudly something along the lines of “GIMME THAT SKIRT NOW KTHNX” It remains my favorite skirt to date, it never gets old for me. Sasy is my dear dear friend, someone I can laugh with till I cry (that happens almost everyday), bad influence shopping partner and unbelievably went 3 years without a “hoo” She is the best cheerleader to have on your team, showing unwavering loyalty for her nearest and dearest. I love her, she makes my SL so much dammed fun, she thinks I’m crazy, but that’s ok, we’re all a wee bit loco. Ash Out.

Homage Part 2

Here we are at part 2 of my tributes to not only bloggers, but friends and people who inspire me. Today it’s Ms Terry’s turn. Terry and I used to run into each more often than not at Silent Sparrow. I have incredibly fond memories of making her wear a box, in public, and being the die hard good sport she is, she even let me take pics (hint: a little bird tells me if you search the archives of the blog you may even find the box pic) Ahem. We spoke on and off, and it was very evident that not only did Terry posses a sparkling wit, but her words words words were amazing. How someone chooses to say something speaks volumes. I demanded she start blogging, cos I can be a demanding bitch like that :P

This is the Terry I first met, swathed in fabulous fabric from Hya, and trotting round on her super cute faun hoofies. This was long before my fascination with all things Lazy Places, and I always admired Terry’s 100% commitment to whichever look she chose to sport.

This look is the one most people would associate with the Terry of late. Bold, fearless and beautiful. The stunning Koi skin from Trap was never something I wanted to own, till I saw it on her. True story. She has an amazing array of “different” avatars, one day human, the next day mermaid. An accomplished model, writer, also studying psychology and all the while, still finding time to listen to me emo, make me laugh and put up with my endless picture taking. She’s held my hand in IM during many an event, and doesn’t mind that my favorite dance is Brotime :P Thank you Terry for your wonderful friendship, loyalty and support. Your words touch people, in more ways than you know. Ash out.

Homage Part 1

So it’s blogger appreciation week. That is an awesome thing, I think of the untold hours we spend finding the right poses, shots, lighting ,then the processing. There are many unsung heroes in the blogging world I will be paying homage to this week. But I thought I would start slightly left, it is me after all, what did you lot expect?!
Anya sent a note to the FS blogging group today that she is gonna post on the freebies from Oyakin, stay tuned for that piece of kawaii!

It was a store I hadn’t heard of before, so in between work breaks I made a point of checking it out. Beautiful, whimsical clothes, gorgeously grungy textures, perfect. I have taken a slightly different tack with my pics tonight, as an homage to the very dear Cerise Dirval, a stunning artist and amazing support on Flickr. Her pictures are always so delicate, so light in touch, even when her subject matter is heavy.

So I tried my very best to re-create her style, as an homage to the incredible encouragement she has shown me and many others on Flickr. The clothes from Oyakin were just what I had in mind. So, in my own indelicate way, thank you Anya and thank you Cerise.

Tuli, Tuli, Tuli….And A Wee Bit Of Axel

For days I’ve been running round in this outfit, which is really unusual for me. I’m always changing, futzing, fixing and trying on. But this outfit just feels so right, comfy and me.

The gorgeous, whimsical patchwork top is from Tuli. I first saw it on Sasy, and completely cursed myself for not seeing it in Tuli’s store at The Deck. I have the socks from Pig perma attached to me nowadays, so a cute denim skirt was the perfect match, to show off both. I chose one from Axel that’s been sitting in my bulging Axel folder for awhile, I still have stuff in there from a massive spending spree that I haven’t worn yet…..bad Ash :P

My hair is 10 shades of cute. It’s the Olivia style from Tiny Bird. It was also 1L for Mother’s Day, thanks to Autumn’s generosity. The jeans and top shown here are also from Tuli. The skully top is actually part of a dress, but can be worn separately thanks to clever layering options. My skin, well it’s just perfect for the look and feel I wanted. Erin from La Sylphide is sadly retired, but remains as gorgeous now as it did when it was first released. Maybe it’s time for me to do some srs begging to get it back out there! Ash Out.

Dark Eden

So the other day I was totally raiding Sasy’s pose stand (the one out atm has over 2,000 poses in it…wicked!) and once I was done with my pics and looked over to see what she was actually doing I was like “wow”. She was taking pics for this post, us girls look so fecking awesome in tuxedos. But she was looking for stockings, when she stumbled on the ones shown, part of the Lilith set from Dark Eden. Then I got yelled at for not having said Lilith set ;P

By chance my friend Terry passed me a card today, saying that the lucky chairs at Dark Eden had been updated, so off I went. Terry had to go afk, and by the time she came back I had bought the whole store. I blame her……..really I do, ahem.

Terry also owns most of Dark Eden’s inv, so we had a wicked time trying stuff on, and my dark/light idea was born. Terry is wearing the most amazing set of silks I have ever seen. Click on the photos for the largest size to see the incredible prim work. There are fairies interlaced throughout her silks and crown, so original and so beautiful. I of course am in the Lileth set, choosing the bare option. If you buy the mega set, you get a mind boggling array of not only layer and style choices, but size choices. Genius if you ask me.

What I also loved was how I felt when wearing this set, all powerful, rawr and well, beautiful :P If you haven’t been for awhile, please do check Dark Eden out, there’s something for all tastes, including a cool new line of magic gear. SOLD! Ash Out.
